Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about TravelBed.
- What is TravelBed?
- TravelBed is direct booking infrastructure for independent hosts. We give you a branded booking site, payment processing through your own Stripe account, calendar sync, and policy management — so you can take bookings without a middleman.
- How much does TravelBed cost?
- There are no monthly fees. TravelBed charges 5% commission on completed bookings only. If a booking is cancelled or refunded, you pay nothing.
- How do payments work?
- Guests pay you directly through your own Stripe account. TravelBed never touches your money. After a booking completes, we invoice you for the 5% commission separately.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Yes. You can connect your own custom domain (e.g. www.your-bnb.com) to your TravelBed booking site. Every host also gets a free travelbed.com/p/your-slug URL.
- Can I import my Airbnb listing?
- Yes. Paste your Airbnb listing URL and TravelBed will import your photos, description, amenities, and pricing. You can also enter details manually.
- Does TravelBed sync with other platforms?
- TravelBed imports availability via iCal feeds from Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, and other platforms. This prevents double-bookings by automatically blocking dates.
- Is TravelBed a marketplace?
- No. TravelBed is infrastructure, not a marketplace. We don't list you alongside competitors or own your guest relationships. Guests book directly with you via your own link or domain.
- Who handles refunds and disputes?
- Since guests pay you directly through your Stripe account, you handle refunds and disputes. TravelBed does not mediate between hosts and guests.
- How do guests find my listing?
- You share your booking link or custom domain directly — on social media, your website, business cards, or anywhere else. TravelBed doesn't provide search or discovery in Phase 1.
- Can I have multiple properties?
- Phase 1 supports one listing per host. Multi-property support is coming in a future update.
